A SUMMER GARDEN TOUR AND PLANT SALE
You can expect to have a grand time as you tour the four fabulous gardens and shop the fantastic plant sale and “Butterfly Boutique.” The plant sale, to be held at the Great Neck Neighborhood Park on Falcon Crescent, will offer hard-to-find butterfly nectar and host plants at great prices. A "Butterfly Boutique" there will offer garden decorations, gorgeous Butterfly Society T-shirts, and books.
Tickets can be purchased at any of the garden sites open for touring. Block tickets are $5; single garden admissions are $2. Children under 12 accompanied by an adult will be admitted free.
The Butterfly Society of Virginia, Inc., established in 1992, is a non-profit organization whose purposes are education, conservation and promotion of butterfly gardening and habitat.
From Shore Drive, turn onto North Great Neck Road. Turn right on River Road (it is called Upper Chelsea on the other side of the street!) and follow the butterfly signs.
From Interstate 264, Get off at Lynnhaven Parkway heading North. Take a right onto Virginia Beach Blvd. Take a left onto Great Neck Road. After about three miles you will pass Cox High School on your left. Very soon after passing Cox High School, turn left on River Road (it is called Upper Chelsea on the other side of the street!) and follow the butterfly signs.
