September 11 (Saturday) , 10 am to 3 pm, Virginia Beach Master Gardeners' Eleventh Annual Community Gardening Festival at Hampton Roads AREC located at 1444 Diamond Springs Road, Virginia Beach. The Butterfly Society will hold a plant sale at this event. September 25 (Saturday), Monarch tag and release day at the butterfly house at the Norfolk Botanical Garden.
