Annual Spring Meeting & Lecture (Free/Open to Public)

  • April 21, 2024
  • 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • LETA Building 411 Integrity Way, Virginia Beach, VA

"The Lives of Butterflies and How Monarchs Are Teaching Us About Resilience"  David James, PhD talks about his newly released book: The Lives of Butterflies – A Natural History of Our Planet’s Butterfly Life (co-authored by David J. Lohman). David has been a noted global authority on Monarchs since the 1980s. He will focus on butterfly survival, especially relating to pesticides. Part of the survival equation is a species' adaptability, something Monarchs continue to demonstrate. His latest paper: https://www.thefreelibrary.com/Monarch+Butterflies+in+Western+North+America%253a+A+Holistic+Review+of...-a0780877044  The meeting will start with a brief business meeting where members will vote for candidates to fill open positions on the board. After he speaks, David will autograph copies of his book - we have a limited number available for sale.  This event is free and open to the public.
